I created a project in RH 2019, imported my FM files, generated the output, all good, but I just made a change in the original FM file that was imported, should I now just do what I originally did, File-Import-FM to update the files in my RH project? The imported FM book simply replaces the existing content, or should i be doing this in some other way?

Surbhi's answer over on another thread about Linking:

"In contents panel, you can right-click and select Link> Link File. Now select the .fm, .book which you want to link to RH project. Once the file is linked, you can right-click on it and select Create/Update Topics. This will generate html topics in RH. Same is the case with import workflow.

Whenever a linked file will be changed in FM, it will trun out of sync. You can sync it both ways: from source to RH project or vice versa. I am using RH

The FM to RH import route is a one-way, one-time workflow; if you make more changes in FM, you start all over again with a new RH project.
The FM to RH linking route is designed to maintain this connection. Once the FM content is in RH, you can make changes in FM and resynch the content in the RH topics to update them.

Hi Jeff, I was hoping to find a Sync button either in RH or FM but to no avail; could you please tell me how to update my RH content to be in sync with my saved FM doc?

Kindly let me know how you are using it. If needed we can connect over a screenshare call to resolve this asap. Kindly email me at sumahesh@adobe.com
