Can webhelp created and compiled in RoboHelp 2019 HTML be viewed on Windows 7?

My company's device runs only on Windows 7.

Also can it be viewed only a browser and not via the Internet. The device may need to be used in places where there is no Internet connection.

The operating system isn't the issue - it's browser security attitudes towards local HTML files that will trip you up. Most browsers won't let you display local (on your workstation or even on a LAN server) HTML files without having to go through hoops to let them know that the files are "safe".

First of all you are no longer producing webhelp. RoboHelp will have applied one of the responsive skins. In that you can turn off responsiveness in the skin settings so that it works like webhelp.

The issue though is going to be how well the browser(s) you use support responsive help. Older versions of IE do not.

Where the help cannot be accessed via the internet, it will need to be on the user's machine.

The project manager wrote the following about the problem:

"Our devices' systems are Win7, and when trying to open the help – it prompts a security warning message in the browser. This doesn’t happen in Win10 (other company devices).

From what she writes, you are saying, Jeff it is a problem with the browser security settings and not the Windows 10. Is that correct.

Peter, you are saying the problem is the responsiveness of the skin setting and that I can turn this feature off and it will work. Is that correct?

What I am saying is you can turn off responsiveness (where the screen adapts to the size of the window) but at the end of the day it is still responsive help so older versions of IE will not work.

I suspect Jeff may need to know if that warning is IE specific. I think it will be.

Also do you control the browser settings for everyone who needs to access the help?
