Which Java SDK should I download to generate JavaHelp layouts?

This is for RoboHelp HTML v7.  Can I use the very latest JAVA SE 7 SDK?  I couldn't find info on Adobe's website on this.

Unfortunately, most help tools have decided to ignore the fact that people are using JavaHelp for cross-platform applications. I have tried

to convince our developers to switch to locally installed WebHelp, but they love their JavaHelp. I am currently using RH8

HTML, so I know that 8 works, but to get JavaHelp to work with RH, you have to jump through a few hoops as far

as editing your path, etc. Peter Grainge's website has some helpful advice in that regard. Your developers who work with JavaHelp can help

you with editing the path on your system (so RoboHelp knows where to find JavaHelp) and so on. Also be aware that when you get crappy output, it's not necessarily RoboHelp's fault. JavaHelp's CSS does not do HTML 4 or later, so you won't be able to use some of the styles that you might use in your project.

I think it's more that most tools have decided that so few people are using JavaHelp that supporting it is not commercially justified. I don't know what version is supported but I will try to find out.

I have been advised that JavaHelp 2.0 is supported. On my site you will see a report to the contrary for RoboHelp 7 but there was a workaround for that. Post back if you find you need it.

As to what to download I surrender. I followed the link on my site and that brought up a page that told me the necessary page had been moved. When I click on that the browser cannot find it. I tried Google and all the relevant links hit the same problem. I do recall finding out anything about this form of help was a real pain.

I suggest that you just download whatever SDK you can noting you do not (or at least did not) need the enterprise version that is a much bigger download.

Good luck. You are going to need it with this poorly supported form of help. I suggest you involve your line manager and advise him of what you have found, unless of course you report to development when you are between a rock and a hard place. I suspect you are going to waste a lot of time on this.

If anyone has good links to help, please wade in and post them.
