Template not working like preview shows

Community Beginner ,
May 28, 2025 May 28, 2025

I downloaded this template and followed the tutorial but it's not playing out at all like the preview shows.

Anyone else experience this and how do I fix it? I'm not experienced enough to manually do this. I'm using the latest version of PP on a PC. I've attached vids of the tutorial and what mine looks like when I export. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @lindsey_COT , Thanks for you patience, I opened the file and there is definitely an issue with the template that's not immedately fixable. We will be taking it down and reevaluating the similar Premiere Pro templates by this contributor. You can go to the chatbox on the lower right of this page to request a refund: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

Thank you and please let us know if you have any questions!

The asset ID is 1386709818. You should give that info too, that would avoid having to search for the asset, as the contributor has more very similar assets.

I agree with you that it does not work as shown in the tutorial. I'm not sure why this is so, however. I've looked into some internals, but I'm missing the time to check exactly what happens.

There may be a helping hand in the Premiere Pro forum.

You also seem to have a plan that includes these assets. The same contributor also has a MOGRT file that does this similarly. That may work better and may be more flexible. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/motion-graphics-templates.html

Thank you so much for your help!! I'm super beginner with Motion, but maybe I can plug this into my Final Cut and try it that way. Thanks so much again!

I doubt that it works under Final Cut, even if you can import the premiere file. It's an interesting aproach, but as @Marissa B. Joyner says, it does not work as intended.

You have those placeholders, where you add your films and a number of PNG animations to mask parts of your films (placeholders) out. Scaling is done at the beginning because the parrot films did not match the placeholder size. The placeholders get moved around as required. There is somewhere a mismatch with the movement and the places where the films should be at a certain keyframe.

Either the contributor uploaded an intermediate file by error, or somewhere between version 2023 and 2025 of Premiere Pro was a change that makes the file incompatible. My guess is the first.
