Automatische Qualitätskontrolle, Bild verrauscht

Hallo.

"The image may be too compressed or noisy to be included in the collection."

Getting this warning before you submit the images for review means that an algorithm has found those pictures way too noisy and it wouldn't surprise me if it had confused the stars with huge noise artifacts.

That said, it is noisy. It's unavoidable when shooting in ISO as you rightly mentionned, but you can try to reduce noise as much as possible in Lightroom or other software. Among other things, do not lift the shadows

There is also motion blur, which would probably be enough for a rejection for "technical issues".

My advice is, try to edit one of the series (without motion blur) a bit more to limit noise, then ignore the warning  and submit it, then wait to see if it's accepted before uploading the others (Adobe keeps track of the ratio accepted/rejected).

I have never shot the aurora, but night photography in particular is very difficult and requires good shooting settings and careful processing, because of high ISO and slow shutter speeds. My recommendation is to practice a lot and test different cameras settings and post-processing methods until you get the best results.

Hope that helps,

Michael

Unfortunately that is not the case. The algorithm only checks the ISO. It does not matter if the photo is noisy or not. Try it out. upload a photo without noise, but before you do, edit the ISO parameter in the photo properties. Set it to 10,000. You will get the error.

"The algorithm only checks the ISO."

I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it out 😉

As this is only a warning, you can ignore it, if you think your picture is OK. As Mat Hayward told us, the ISO has no influence on the image acceptance and I have ISO 3200 images in my portfolio, I needed, however, to apply additional noise cancellation.

The aurora is quite beautiful, however you have subject motion in both of these images that will probably cause them to be rejected even if you can reduce the noise somewhat. In the first image, the people have ghosts, probably because they were moving and your shutter speed was slow. In the second image, the large blurry boat in the foreground is quite distracting. As others have suggested, select the best 1 or 2, carefully edit to reduce the noise and submit them to see if they are accepted before submitting any others.
