Hello, I hope you all are doing well.
While designing posters and t-shirts, I always use and create my own overlay textures. Now, I'm thinking about uploading grunge overlay textures to my Adobe Stock contributor account in vector format. But to create overlay textures in vector, I need to use the Image Trace option in Adobe Illustrator to convert my textures into vectors.
So my question is: Is it okay to use the Image Trace option? I noticed that Adobe Stock's vector requirements mention: "Keep your use of trace features to a minimum." That’s why I just wanted to ask, can I use the Image Trace tool for creating texture vectors, or will it cause issues?
If anyone has uploaded assets to Adobe Stock using Image Trace, please share your experience.
Thank You.

Image trace very often creates poor vector output, that needs to be curated. But if you correctly process the vector items, you can use trace.

Basically, the result I want and need for the overlay texture is easily achieved using the Image Trace option in Adobe Illustrator. After using Image Trace, the output looks exactly like a proper grunge texture. If there are any mistakes, I can fix them manually. However, I was a bit concerned whether creating a vector using only the Image Trace option is a good idea or not. To be honest, as far as I know, Image Trace is the easiest and most effective solution for this type of texture. I attached the SS for reference to textures.

You shouldn't use abbreviations like this. It's always more difficult to read.

Thank you for your concern. But to become a successful contributor, it's not enough to just have good design, photography, or videography skills. You also need to understand SEO. Otherwise, no matter how good your designs are, if the SEO isn’t done properly, they won’t show up in search results. I will create unique textures and target low-competition keywords like (Overlay Texture) in the vector category with just 570k results in total.

How many Stock customers are typing Overlay+Textures in the search bar if what they're looking for is Grunge+Vectors or Vector+Grunge+Design?
You can yell "FIRE!" in an empty theater, but it benefits no one because there's nobody there to hear it.

I appreciate the theatrical analogy, but I believe it’s a bit misplaced here.
Just because a keyword has lower search volume doesn’t mean it has no audience. Targeting specific, less competitive keywords is a classic SEO approach, especially in saturated marketplaces like Adobe Stock. As a Streetwear t-shirt and poster designer, I work in this niche daily and know exactly what terms and textures are commonly searched and used. People searching for “overlay texture” are often looking for clean, practical assets to enhance their designs, not necessarily full-blown grunge art.
So no, I’m not yelling “fire” in an empty theater, I’m speaking directly to the people already in the room, who know exactly what they’re looking for. And I’d rather be heard by the right few than lost in the noise of millions.
Thanks for your input, though, and best of luck with your contributions.

I’m here to talk ideas, not banter. Let’s keep it productive.. But honestly, I’d suggest you take some time to learn SEO because even if you’ve been working on a website since 1995, it's still struggling to cross 1K monthly traffic. Maybe that’s because most of your energy goes into leaving irrelevant comments on posts. These illogical replies might get you a 'Community Expert' tag, but they won’t help your actual growth. Anyway, I’ve said what I needed to, I’m not interested in dragging this conversation further!
