I have a lengthy history of involvement with Adobe. I've been a loyal customer since Photoshop V5, and I also worked at Adobe for several years as a contractor. During the initial launch of Creative Suite many years ago, I played a significant role in generating millions of dollars for the company.
Today, unexpectedly and without any prior notice or opportunity to address the issues, my contributor account with Adobe was abruptly closed. The reason cited was that my account was blocked due to the submission of Generative AI content that supposedly did not align with their guidelines.
While I question the accuracy of this claim, I believe that a more professional approach would have involved simply removing the specific images in question and communicating with me about the concern. Over the past four weeks, the AI-generated images I shared depicted subjects such as Werewolves (rooted in European folklore), Jack-o-lanterns (associated with Halloween folklore), and whimsical witches, all of which did not infringe upon anyone's artistic work or likeness. The images I posted before these recent ones, at least a month and a half ago, were of transparent wall canvases that also did not violate any guidelines. Any earlier submissions, approved months ago, were similarly respectful of copyright and not intended to resemble any public figures.
Another issue I've encountered with this service is the prolonged approval process, which can take up to 1-2 months, followed by an additional month to receive funds after a withdrawal request is made.
In all honesty, I'm not deeply perturbed by the closure of my account, as I am already earning more substantial income from other platforms that involve far less hassle. What does disappoint me is the treatment I've received in this situation. It seems that the company's approach has taken a negative turn over time, especially in recent years.
Farewell.
