The choice of portrait or landscape will come naturally from the composition you choose, based on your commercial photography experience.

Photo quality is expected to be world class commercial standard. It is difficult to produce work to the required standard unless you have an excellent camera. (Not necessarily impossible, but it needs more skill and selection of pictures and setting).  Adobe do look at the very detailed level of the pixels, as stock photo buyers will. Cheaper cameras and phones often make great snapshots which do not stand this detailed checking.

Obviously, Adobe Stock is not going to choose a photo of poor quality, regardless of what camera it was captured with. In other words, using a high quality, expensive camera does not guarantee that your images will be accepted. The images must be well executed with proper exposure, focus and composition.

The majority of Stock images are landscape.  Customers can crop them to suit their own projects.
