I can't figure out or understand the following

99% of my photo rejections is for the following reason:

"Thanks for submitting your file for review.

Unfortunately, during our review we found that this file does not meet the Adobe Stock’s Illustrative Editorial Guidelines.

We are looking for imagery intended to illustrate articles on current events and news, focused on conceptual imagery using real brands and products to convey strong ideas.

The most common cases for rejection from that collection are:

- The file includes identifiable people.
- The file is news or documentary editorial.
- The file did not have a strong editorial concept."

I spent hours trying to understand Adobe Stock’s Illustrative Editorial Guidelines but I can't wrap my head around it. Attached is the image they rejected

1. Can anyone tell me specifically what is lacking in the image that doesn't meet the Editorial Guidelines?

2. If I redidd the shot, what could I change in the image to meet the Editorial Guidlines?

3. In another post you all tried to explain it but I plead ignorance and admit it went over my head. If you try to explain it again, maybe showing images that meet the editorial requirements would help or explain it as if explaining it to a 5th grader.

Sorry for not grasping this.. I read the guidelines and when that didn't help me understand I turn to the internet for my research. It didn't help because I still get the same  rejections reason  and it just drives me crazy that I can't figure it out. I never resubmitted a rejected image in the past but for experimental purposes if you recommend what I could change to make this image acceptable I'll change it and resubmit to see if it passes the editorial guidlines.

Maybe it's a quality issue; there's no way to tell.

Is this AI generated? The hands suggest it is. I don't believe AI is accepted as Illustrative Editorial.

Yes Sir it is AI. What puzzled me in the first place when did Adobe reject it as an Illustrative image when it as an AI image. Oh well, I appreciate your reply.

There's nothing "Illustrative Editorial" about this image. 

Stop submitting "editorial" images. Clearly, it's not your wheelhouse.

This is the first time I submitted an image here. Even though I submit them as ai images to adobe,  adobe treats it as an Editorial image. Not sure why.

The first time you submitted here (in the forum) or in Adobe stock? How many accepted images do you have? How many sales do you have? How many rejected images do you have?

If you do not have yet the required 100 sales, you can't submit as illustrative editorial, which lets me think that the reason given is the wrong one. The moderator probably chose the wrong refusal reason and they meant quality issues or similar.

Given the rendering errors, this appears to be an AI image, and such images are not accepted for the Illustrative Editorial collection.

Jill that is what puzzled me. Being it is AI image I asked myself why did Adobe treat it like an Editorial image and use that as reason for rejecting the image.  But I think i will carry on as is no matter what reason Adobe uses to reject an image. Thanks for the reply.

You probably accidentally clicked the Editorial button? This happened to me once.

It seems quite likely that you accidentally ticked the Illustrative Editorial check box rather than AI check box - an easy mistake to make since they're right next to each other. I'll betting that you wi t make that mistake again 😉

Illustrative Editorial = photographs containing known brands like soda cans, cars, computers, and signs on buildings. 

None of that is contained above.

This would not be accepted because it has a human face. Your submission should illustrate a current event or news worthy topic, or It may include imaginary concept involving brands - like doing something with a brand. Example package foods or item in which case the brand is included in the picture. This is one example. You can get more details about illustrative editorial here.

What is illustrative editorial content?

At Adobe Stock, we define illustrative editorial as conceptual imagery designed to illustrate articles on current events and newsworthy topics.

I think the key phrase here is: "conceptual imagery designed to illustrate articles on current events and newsworthy topics.'

Your illustration doesn't meet this criteria.

It doesn't convey a strong image!

You probably have more than 100 downloads, which is the minimum requirement before you can submit content for Illustrative Editorial use.

You do not have the required 100 sales. At that stage, the option to submit illustrative editorial assets gets available.

This is a bad photo. Did you take a look at the hands?  People keep posting junk like this to Adobe and then wondering why it gets rejected.    I do AI too but I spend days looking for anomalies and believe me AI errors are there!!  People think they can create AI IMAGES and then post it just like that.  AI is not like a photograph.  There are always issues.  Look at your work before posting!!!

Once I asked a query about the AI generated images, and the staff told me that AI generated images are accepted as long as each and every detail is clear in the image. Moreover, once you've create teh image you must also adjust the color grading and exposure.
