Hello!
Today I received an email from Adobe that some of my files that I offer for sale as a contributor here will be removed after March 4th because they are duplicates.
What are the criteria for dubbing, for example, a video file? If the name of two different videos is the same, is this dubbing?
I have files with longer names that differ by a number at the end of the title. Unfortunately, when the title is longer, this number is not visible and the files automatically have the same titles.
Please help?
Thank you! 🙂

We don't know exactly what Adobe's criteria are for removing duplicate content, but I doubt that it is based solely on the title. Nevertheless, you really should strive for unique titles on each asset. If you're repeating the same title, perhaps the content is just too similar...

Thanks for the clarification. I always try to keep everything varied and still I have 7-8 versions of videos or animations that are similar and that's why their title is the same and I just number them, for example: Puffy clouds isolated on black background
and
Puffy clouds isolated on black background 1.. 2,3 and so on

You will see after March 4 what they removed. As they are sending out you this mail, it simply means that you have duplicates. Duplicates can't be determined by file name or by title name. They would also need to pass some other tests.
You will see the removed assets in your “Not accepted” tab. I suppose that they also told you a number of the files that will get removed?

The email said that when I received it I had one or more files bubbling. Well see after the 4th of next month. I was just worried that if the title was the criterion for dubbing, my portfolio would suffer a lot.
I appreciate your replies!

Or you could start repairing your titles to be more unique and specific now...

A portfolio of almost 6,000 files carefully crafted with love and a lot of time?? In 4 days, with three of them being holidays (weekend + national holiday) ? For me, this is a blow below the belt. I hope they don't remove many of my files 😞 This will disappoint me and I won't get any motivation to continue working, and I thought everyone was happy with my work! Apparently only some contributors have received such emails.

If you don't have a lot of duplicates, there should be no "blow below the belt". If you do have many duplicates, then you need to alter your workflow to ensure that you stop uploading duplicate content.

I have always tried and been careful not to upload the same file twice. I honestly don't think I have a single duplicate file, but we'll see. That's why I brought up this topic. Best regards! 🙂

Sure, only those having assets that got identified by Adobe.

But negligently titled. To build a stock portfolio, you should also carefully title your assets “with love”. But as I have told you prior to this, I do not think that the titles are the criteria to determine the duplicates.

They will remove tghe duplicates, maybe both, maybe they will keep one version of them. You simply need to wait. You won't be able to change anything until you know what they remove.

Doublets can't be fixed on the title alone. But having “a lot” titles the same is kind of neglecting the titling because if the titles do not change for multiple files, you can't have done a good job there.
I've checked my messages, and I did not have got a message, even though I have half a dozen titles the same. The image for sure is the same subject, but a different setting.
