4 months is a long time but you have to be very patient, you are unfortunately not the only contributor in this situation, it is due to the considerable number of images to moderate.

Yes, that happens. You have 2 possibilities.

  1. You can continue waiting, they may eventuelly be moderated one day.
  2. You can delete them and resubmit. Be careful, the keywords and the titles get lost, when you delete them. So be sure to recover those before deleting. To delete an asset in review, check the delete link right to the original filename. It's not placed very prominently and you can search that for a while.

I'm not sure if the "delete and resubmit" advice we've been giving is all that good. I had one asset stewing in the queue for 4 months. I deleted it (after copying keywords and title), resubmitted it, and it's now at the very end of my "In review" list again. I'm going to try again, but re-saving it with a different file name, a slightly different title, and tweak some keywords. Why that would make a difference, if at all, I have no idea.

There are two possibilities:

  1. Your asset is really at the front of the moderation queue and a moderator would pick it in the next half hour. So, it would be silly to delete.
  2. Your asset is stuck in the moderation queue and it will never get picked by a moderator, because the moderators do not "see" it (or get it into their personal pipeline). That happened before, and the solution at the time was to get someone to kick it in again.

It was easy for two reasons: first, you knew after 2 weeks that your asset was stuck, and second contributor support took care of your asset after your complaint.

But today, it is nearly impossible to distinguish between 1 and 2, also for two reasons: first it takes an eternity to get moderated all normally submitted asset and second contributor support simply ignores your pleas, because everybody complains, even those being in the queue for only for 3 days to a week.

What we would need is something like in the waiting queue of Disneyland: 2 hours from this point on.

So, if the contributor has assets submitted just before and just after this, and both got moderated, and an additional waiting time well above the 8 weeks announced passed, the contributor needs to take a decision. And there are not ten solutions.

Indeed, the opacity of the system makes the situation complicated. Without a clear way to identify whether a resource is truly stuck or just waiting in line, it becomes difficult to know what to do.

Yes  for a FastPass system like at Disneyland!

To be honest, it is a mess.
