IP rejection

Ironically, within 30 or 40 minutes of meposting this comment, they
moderated one of my images. Although I got turned down because of
intellectual property, leaving me with a question. Someone in the photo is
wearing their school choir shirt, with only a small fraction of it visible,
although there are a couple of music notes visible. Are music notes not
okay to show?

Normally, music notes are protected, but only if they are the focus of the asset. Check for logos, even tiny ones.

Well, unless the mass produced platter or the mass produced Thanksgiving Hats are protected, music notes are the only other possibility. Check it out and tell me what you see! OOps, this is the correct one--I removed the watch! #2 is the submitted image.

I see the T-shirt. The design is probably protected and on the arm is part of a logo or similar.

The arm is just her name, LOL, but I guess someone designed the shirt. Both are easily remedied. While I was sleeping, they moderated and added one of my images. I've been adding at least one image per day so I'm unsure what happened, but it looks like my account is again under way so Yay! Thanks for your continued and valued advice, Abambo. The moderator cannot know that, and the notes are not notes on a sheet of musical paper, but on a t-shirt. Then it's design…🤔😂, even if the notes describe "die kleine Nachtmusik" from Mozart. (I didn't check the notes, so this is not the real thing!)

I agree with @Abambo that the t-shirt design is what caused the IP rejection. It may or not be IP protected, but the Moderators cannot know that, so they quickly hit the reject button. I guess you'll have to get the kids to not wear any printed items when they're posing for you 🙂

That would be the best solution. As they are probably your (grand) kids, that should not be a big problem. If you took those pictures, however, on the fly, and later decide to use them, you will need to use the Photoshop cleaner.

This particular shot was spur of the moment..I innocently didn't think there was enough showing to be a problem. Still learning the ropes.

Yeah, there are a number of t-shirt brands that start with the letters ka. kamit, kamit kids, kappa, etc.

1. Did you make the ceramic plate the pilgrim is holding?  If yes, you must sign a property release by you as the ceramic artist to release it for commercial use.  If it was a purchased item, you're violating the plate maker's rights. 

2. Same goes for T-shirts.  It doesn't matter if it's a private choir, bowling league or NIKE swoosh.  If it's got writing or logos on it, Adobe will reject it for Property reasons.

3.  Model releases are required, signed by the children's parent or legal guardian.
