Hi,
I just had one of my assets sold for 0,24 USD when everywhere I read the minimum royalty should be 0,33 USD, any idea why my royalty would be that low?

Hello.
1. It may be a custom licence.
2. Does your country of residence have a tax treaty with the U.S.?

What license type - Subscription or Custom? A subscription royalties are shown here, but Custom plans, which Adobe negotiates with their largest customers, can be lower.

Are you able to share some more information about the custom licenses please?

I do not have any specific information about Customer subscriptions - just that Adobe enters into Custom subscriptions with clients for whom the standard subscriptions don't meet their needs.

Nobody here knows what those terms are. Those contracts are privately negotiated between Adobe & big Enterprise companies with thousands of employees who need 20,000 or more assets per year.

Thank you for your reply.
I can see licensing infomation relating to Standard, Enhanced, Extended, and limited licensing, but nothing relating to "Custom" like you mention.
Would you be kind enough to share some links to some official documentation on it please?

As @Nancy OShea said, no one here knows what those terms are, and they are not made available to us online. There's nothing to share.

You get indemnified according to the plan the buyer has. So a plan that allows for more assets/month is pricier to the buyer, but the single asset is cheaper. You get your slice of the price per asset that the buyer pays.
So it's not exactly the licence the buyer takes, but the plan that determines what you get. (Sure, an extended licence will get you a higher payout, but most people buy standard licences.)
Custom plans are big plans for big companies that get unlimited access to the stock library. And as those plans are negotiated plans, you won't find links to them.
And custom does not necessarily mean that the royalty is low:
(This is a simplification of the situation, but you need to understand that the 750 assets/month is not the biggest plan that you could buy.)

That happens. What is the licence type? Custom? Subscription?

The Royalty Rate is 33%, not 33 cents.
Your net will vary depending on which type of license was purchased (standard, enhanced or extended) and which type of plan the customer has. See screenshot below.

You shouldn't let them sell your asses for that price. You're getting a bum deal!

Adobe Stock is not selling assets for that price. That is the royalty, not the license cost.

Under the Basic subscription plan, customers pay about $3/standard image asset, and $24/video.
Royalty rates paid to Contributors are 33%/images (about $1), and 35%/video (about $8.5), less withholding rates (taxes) which vary by country. See chart below.

Well, from the Adobe standpoint, it's easy: as a contributor, you can't negotiate your part. You take what they offer, or you leave. And when you check out other stock agencies, you get paid more here.
If you want to get rich fast, choose a different job.

$0.24 is correct, if you did not fill out your tax form or if your country does not have a tax agreement with the US.
