Hello All
Can anyone enlighten me on the way to get images accepted of the old fashioned painted signs on brick buildings? The companies represented are defunct, not reachable for a release, just a relic in time. Here are 2 examples of this - one specifically a company name (Walla Walla Candy Co), and the other so generic & simple it says only "Tin Shop". Both were rejected for intellectual property issues. Thumbnail Images below.
In essence, how is it possible to get a release from a company that no longer exists, and hasn't for decades? To me it's the same as an old barn.
Historic Walla Walla and Its Buildings
The signage identifies the building. It's likely the building itself is private property. Since the building is the main subject of the image, you must submit a property release signed by the owner to sell these images for commercial use.
