I have several old photos of my mother and father and other family members which are extremely interesting. I would like to submit some of them to Adobe Stock, however, I do not have releases for the photos and all of the individuals in the photos have been deceased for several years. Is there anyway to submit them without a release?
No, you will likely need a release for this content unless you can confirm the people in the photos have been deceased more than 75 years.
Kind regards,
Mat Hayward

Just out of curiosity, where did that magic number of 75 come from?

Hi,
here is an overview of Wikipedia's worldwide pictorial rights laws explanation:
List of countries' copyright lengths - Wikipedia
Why these have been defined in such a way certainly requires deeper research that you can do, but they are now so fixed and binding for every agency that sells pictures.
