Greetings! I am a brand new contributor hoping that the community can help me identify the technical issue/s that got my sandy snowman pic rejected. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth trying to fix and re-submit. Thans in advance for any advice!sand snowman v2.jpg

Oh I love it!!!

And not just because I live in sunny Southern California.  🙂

Examine your image at 100-300% magnification.  And open your Histogram panel.

The exposure level needs slight correction.  It's a bit too light.

There is also noticeable grain and some artifacts that you can probably smooth out easily enough in Photoshop or Lightroom.

I hope it gets accepted. It's so refreshing to see something quirky & original.

Hi,

It's quite noisy and there are blown out highlights:

Hope that helps,

2 things:

You over sharpened the picture. And you have missing details in the whites, as shown by @MNiessenPhoto.

I agree with @Nancy OShea, this is a refreshing picture. But I fear that your iPhone did some bad processing to this. If, however, you resubmit it, errors corrected, I hope that you can add a property release as the snow woman may be considered as an artwork and the original creator needs to agree to this add into stock.
