Hey I recently uploaded this and it wasn't accepted. Looking for a reason why. (It's meant for Phone backgrounds, which is why it was taken in vertical) Hibiscus after a drink.jpg

What size iPhone is this for?

Left side of hibiscus flower is clipped.

Background is cluttered.

Branches and foliage have poor focus.

Hi @defaultgc58jlsxqq0s ,

In addition to the bad cropping of the flowers as highlighted by @Nancy OShea , there is a small amount of noise around the flower edge as though it was over sharpen or over compressed.

Best wishes

Hi,

Beyond what has already been mentioned regarding quality, allow me to address your comment:

"It's meant for Phone backgrounds, which is why it was taken in vertical"

Keep in mind that many defects (noise, blurriness, chromatic aberration, banding,...) might not be visible when you look at an image on a small screen or zoomed at 25-50%. So an image could look perfectly fine on a phone, but not at all on a large screen or in print. Adobe Stock customers expect the highest image quality and thus your pictures must look sharp at 100%, without artifacts or excessive noise.

So don't just assume that because a picture looks great on a small screen but not so much at 100%, it could be accepted on Adobe Stock for some uses.

Just my 2 cents 😉

Michael

If you upload to Adobe stock, it's meant for all usages. And even if, do you think there is a market for phone background images? During my career, I've bought numerous stock images, but never someone requested an image for his phone.

Bad cropping is a major fault in this picture, and the out of focus does not look consistent. This happens when cameras try to simulate the out of focus. It practically always goes wrong. The focus on the hibiscus should include all the blossom.

Hello,

It's important therefore to leave room for cropping so that the image can be used in all sorts of situations.

You also have to bear in mind the background. Make sure that it isn't cluttered like it is here. It is just too messy and distracting. Also, there are loads of flower shots. This one dosen't cut it, I'm afraid to say!
