I'm back! I thought these photos were really good, but apparently not good enough. I need your help again for fixes. This was just for simple texture, maybe its too bright?

Not sharp, artefacts and under exposed for the first.

 

Your second is better focussed, but still has exposure issues and artefacts.

Depth of field is too shallow. Look at how the focus falls off in the corners of the image. This can be avoided by choosing a smaller aperture.
