This can be frustrating. If image thumbnails suddenly stop appearing in Microsoft Edge, there are several common causes and solutions:
1. Edge Settings for Image Display:
Images Blocked: The display of images might have been disabled in Edge's settings.
Open Edge.
Go to Settings (three-dot menu → Settings).
Navigate to Cookies and site permissions.
Select Images.
Make sure the toggle for Show all (recommended) is set to On. Also, check if any websites are accidentally listed under "Block."
2. Browser Cache and Extensions:
Corrupted Cache: Sometimes, a corrupted browser cache can cause display issues.
Clear the browser cache. Go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services.
Under "Clear browsing data," click Choose what to clear.
Select Cached images and files (you may also want to select "Cookies and other site data") and click Clear now.
Extensions: An installed extension (like an ad-blocker or a security tool) might be blocking the thumbnails.
Temporarily disable all extensions. Go to Settings → Extensions → Manage extensions. Turn all of them off and check if the problem is solved. If it is, re-enable them one by one to find the culprit.
3. Windows Settings (If you meant File Explorer Thumbnails):
Since you mentioned "Microsoft Edge," I assume you mean thumbnails on web pages or within Edge features (like Collections). However, if you mean image file thumbnails in Windows File Explorer that stopped showing up after using Edge, the problem lies in the Windows system settings:
Explorer Options:
Open File Explorer.
Click the three dots at the top → Options.
Go to the View tab.
Make sure the box next to Always show icons, never thumbnails is unchecked.
Performance Settings:
Search for View advanced system settings in the Windows search and open it.
In the Advanced tab, under "Performance," click Settings.
Ensure that the box for Show thumbnails instead of icons is checked.
Clear Thumbnail Cache:
Search for Disk Cleanup in the Windows search and open it.
Select your system drive (usually $C: $).
Scroll down the list and put a checkmark next to Thumbnails.
Click OK and then Delete files. This forces Windows to rebuild the thumbnail previews.
If none of the above helps:
Repair Edge: Try repairing Microsoft Edge. Go to Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Find Microsoft Edge, click the three dots → Advanced options, and then select Repair.

Maybe it's a regional filter. In which country do you reside?
Try changing your country code in the address bar to Canada, UK, France, or Australia.

There are two possible causes for this:
Changing the region won't help here, as your contributor account is not filtered, as is your public profile.

It works if you use wifi instead of Mobile MB. However, I have never had such a problem with the mobile MB working for several years. This is the first time such a problem has appeared.
