Review delays. I now have assets that have been in a review status for over 3 months.

I now have assets that have been in a review status for over 3 months.  These are not AI images.  I really don't believe the line about "first come, first reviewed" as I had several assets that I uploaded at the same time that were reviewed within a couple weeks (i.e. a couple months ago).  If it's really first in first out for reviews, all of these assets ahould have been reviewed at about the same time.   Either the review times have continued to get worse or there is a glitch in the algorithm used to determine the order of assts that need reviewing.  Any ideas ?

First come, first served is no longer the case, nor has it been for the last few months. Maybe even half a year? You could be on to something about the algorithm being messed up. One more theory among many. Knock on wood, but I have not been affected by the issue lately and I have an average of 6 assets reviewed per day. However, a couple months back, I was experiencing the problem for a good two months, with reviews trickling in at 1 or 2 per day or no reviews at all. Presently, my assets are being reviewed in the order submitted (more or less), though there are occasions when I might upload four or five assets late at night and one of the five will be reviewed within minutes. Hard to say what's really going on.

The frustration is there is really no one with knowledge of how this
process works that we can contact. I was a software developer for 35
years, and there is often skepticism on the part of customer service, that
every issue is user error and not a software glitch. If the image review
process actually does have bugs in it, it may only be through contributor
feedback that Adobe realizes they have an issue. If the review process
is "working," Adobe has done a poor job managing expectations in the
contributor community. I don't mind "waiting" but I would feel really
stupid if I am waiting on something that is related to how I am submitting
my images, or a bug in their process.

Adobe is well aware of the review delays, which are also being reported daily in the Adobe Stock Discord Server, which is actively monitored by several Adobe employees. I'm sure they're also getting many direct emails and contacts about review time. It's definitely not a "bug" that they've overlooked. They continue to add between 500,000 and a million images a day to the database, so the moderation team is busy and productive. It appears that Adobe has intentionally modified the procedures by which they allocate images to the moderation queues, for reasons unknown to us.

Stock doesn't need to explain their processes to Contributors.  In fact, there are probably internal policies that prohibit it.  Your relationship with Stock is to submit high quality content that customers will likely buy and Stock's job is to sell it.  That's it in a nutshell.

My theory is that Contributors with high percentage of accepted assets and a good history of prior sales might be receiving slightly 'preferred priority status' over other contributors with less proven track records.  But that's just my theory.  I could be completely wrong.

Without the contributors, Adobe Stock would not exist.  Treating their suppliers with disdain is not likely considered a good business model in any busines and is hopefully not their intention.  The only guidance they supplied, when I submitted my last batch of images, was that it could take up to 2 months.  We are now way past that.  I have over 3000 accepted images in my catalog with Adobe, have an acceptance rate of over 99%, and they sell 1000s of my images a year.  I am sure they have many contributors that exceed my numbers, but I would like to feel that I deserve to be treated in a professional manner.    I don't think my inquiry is unreasonable.

Hello,

No, it isn't. However, as you are writing to this forum, you are writing to other contributors. We are all in the same boat. And, I'm afraid there isn't much that can be done, apart from waiting. It is said that patience is a virtue. 😊

The long-established rule of "first-in/first-out" no longer seems to apply. I have older files waiting for 2-3 months, while newer files get reviewed more rapidly. None of us seems to understand Adobe's reviewing procedures these days. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to hasten the process. We just have to be patient and trust that they will get around to reviewing all files eventually.

Adobe rarely responds in this user-to-user forum.

1-3 months is an average wait time -- sometimes less, sometimes more. We don't know if Adobe is having staffing challenges or technical problems.  They don't communicate that to users.

Stock still receives thousands of assets per week and backlogs are to be expected. If you've waited this long, it probably won't be much longer.  Be patient, work on other projects.  Submit to other services if you wish.

I'm still waiting for 1 year while it's under review. It's really confusing what made him wait this long.Screenshot 2024-09-11 at 18.10.55.png

same here.....

seems to me that AI is preferred now and gets through within days.

I wonder if the accepted pictures being in review for 3 months do not appear as new anymore in the database and are basically useless

When your assets are finally reviewed, they will have a new data stamp "dated added to database", so they will still be treated as a fresh content, no matter no long you've been waiting for them to be reviewed.

Pure speculation.  Average wait times vary from 1-3 months -- sometimes less, sometimes more.  It depends on how many assets are ahead of yours in the wait queue.

Stock receives thousands of submissions each week -- photos, videos, vectors, drawings, illustrations, AI, etc...  Backlogs are to be expected no matter which type of asset you submit.  Allow plenty of lead time for submission of seasonal assets (4-6 months).

I don't believe it's entirely true that AI alone is what is causing the slow review times. Full transparency, I do submit only AI and my images (presently) get moderated on a daily basis. Anywhere from 4 to 6. This was not always the case, and I did experience a slow down in review times that lasted well over a couple of months before things turned around. Days would go by with no reviews at all, or 1 or 2 at best.

Anyway, there are two reasons why I don't believe AI is the sole reason for slow reviews times:

1. When Adobe first began accepting AI, there as a flood of submissions (mostly horrid ones), and yet assets continued to be moderated at a relatively decent pace.

2. Again, when Adobe opened the doors to AI, it seemed like every other day an AI contributor was asking why their images were rejected. That doesn't happen as often as it did in the begining. So, either AI submissions have slowed down in general, or contributors are getting better at curating and editing their submitted assets. Many, in fact, probably lost interest following one rejection after another and moved on.

I'm certain there is still an abundance of AI assets being submitted, perhaps even exceeding the submissions of everything else, but given the two observations above, I don't think they equate to the sole reason why everything else has slowed to a crawl.

I'd start out by deleting and resubmitting just three or four. It's naive to say so and unlikely to happen, but maybe it'll shake something loose. I'd also recommend changing the titles if you decide to delete and re-submit a few.

That said, I' do it this way: Resubmit the images with different titles, then copy and paste the titles and keywords from the original images before deleting them.

We've heard that some people have had assets waiting for over a year. Although I'm surprised we're only hearing about them now and not months ago.

Good question. With so many people experiencing this issue, it makes one wonder if there's common denominator why it's happening to some and not others.

If you do indeed have hundreds of images that have waited for 8 months, there is some flaw in the system that has prevented them from making their way through the queues to the moderators. Use the contact us link on your account link to ask Adobe to review your account.
