Technical issue rejection

Please kindly explain what is the technical issue found in my images, so I can correct it

They both have a depth of field that is too shallow and hardly anything is on focus on them.  The image is over exposed with blown highlights, and there is a heavy yellow colorcast.  I still can't tell exactly what these are a photo of, maybe some sort of dessert or pastry?  I do not believe these images are salvageable with the dof issues.
