Technical issuse

Two photos where rejected for technical issues, any adivce on getting them fixed ? Im still newish to photo shop and would gladly take comments.

JSZC7763_edited.jpg is underexposed, has a too-shallow depth of field, rendering parts of the image in soft focus, and too tightly cropped. There are also some distracting shadows at the top of the frame. Food photography is much harder than you could imagine. Check out the MasterClass from Andrew Scrivani, free here on Adobe:

The cityscape is blurry - I can't find anything actually in focus in the frame. If it were sharp, you would have had to remove all of the signs and logos to avoid an IP rejection.

Im still use to 35mm film and still getting use to the new digital camera's. I will keep all this in mind , again thank you.

Digital cameras are smarter than film cameras. But sometimes that smartness is more a curse than blessing.  Have you taken any digital photography courses yet?

Hi @Randall254460096qgl,

To highlight what @Jill_C  said about the food, take a close look at the potato. It appears blur.

Also there is a white balance issue. The photo looks slightly blue when zoomed in.

For the second photo, details are lost in the shadows and highlights. Also, it is excessively noisy.

If you have already looked at the above links, here is another that you will find useful, as it highlights some of the common issue and how to identify them.
