Unusual Multiple Downloads: Concern About Account Safety

New Here ,
Dec 20, 2024 Dec 20, 2024

This morning, while reviewing my Adobe Stock account, I noticed something unusual. One of my images has been downloaded 13 times in a row, which has never happened before. I’ve heard that such activity can sometimes lead to account blocking, and this has made me quite anxious.

I want to ensure my account stays in good standing. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice or guidance on what I should do would be greatly appreciated

Several have reported such activity but, we have no way of knowing what triggers and threshholds Adobe uses to block accounts. Excessive downloads could be a proble but, how many is excessive? Are they from the same user? We have no way of knowing. Only Adobe has access to this info. So as the song goes "dont worry, be happy".

I have a Christmas image that has been selling multiple times a day since the beginning of November. I am happy and grateful for these sales, knowing that in July, no one will buy it again until the next holiday season.

As mentioned on your Discord post, this could be one Buyer licensing the asset for multiple clients.

I've had one image in particular downloaded 117 times and counting. But it has happened over a period of one and a half years. More often than not, it means it is an in-demand image and there is nothing to worry about. If it were done "in a row" within seconds of each other, that might be concerning. I have at least three dozen assets that get downloaded regularly enough that I could probably stop submitting assets at all and still make at least a meager income based on those sales alone.

I would start getting nervous if that continues. 13 sells is not much, if there is a reason behind. If it is a seasonal asset, that may be OK. It may also be that a class got to work out something and your asset got suggested as a starting point (here, the earnings per licence should be relatively low). It may be that a novice user wants to download the asset and does run in trouble. This all depends on muliple possible causes. We are not able to verify one of the theories.
