Updating your tax form

I received an email notification to update my tax form as usual when it expires, but I already submitted it in advance a couple of months earlier. Should I resubmit it? Or will the status change automatically when the previous form expires?

I decided to resubmit the form, and the tax form was extended for another three years. I consider the matter closed.
