Which version of the .ai(adobe illustrator) extension should I install? Old version or new version?

I just joined you as a vector artist.
I created my files, but I don't know what extension and format I should present them in. Which extension should be chosen to appeal to more customers? I'm thinking of choosing the .ai extension.
And if I use the old version of this extension, will it help increase my sales?

What old version? If you contribute .ai, buyers will only know that you contributed .ai or .eps. I would always use the latest version and include the PDF preview.

Old versions;
Ai:2020, cs, cs6 etc.
eps: illustrator 10, 8 etc.
I saw in YouTube videos that people prefer eps(10, 8), ai(cs) versions. I don't know why they did this. My desire to learn is clearly as follows; If I install the product with the new version, will the customer's old version Adobe Illustrator program (if any) open it? I don't want my customer to be disappointed.

You should submit the latest version, as there is an evolution in technology. EPS is old technology and does not evolve, so saving files as EPS will eventually "downgrade" your asset and make it less editable. When people prefer old file formats, it is because they do not have access to the latest software, or they are using third party software, which does not read the latest file versions of Adobe Illustrator.

It is unfortunate, the the customer does not see the file version, but with a Creative Cloud subscription you have anyway access to the latest programs. So that should not be an issue.

There is NO ADVANTAGE in legacy file types.  Save .ai with the latest software (Illustrator 2022 - 2024), no more than two versions back.  Do NOT SAVE files as legacy CS6 which is more than 10 years old.  Nobody uses it anymore.
