Due settimane fa ho provato a caricare in Adobe Stock alcune foto tratte da un mio vecchio fotoreportage scattato nelle strade dell'Afghanistan nel 1976.

Ovviamente si tratta di diapositive che ho digitalizzato fotografandole con una Canon 5d Mark II + ob. Macro 100 e che ho cercato di restaurare con Photoshop CC per renderle più simili possibile agli originali.

Insomma si tratta di materiale che ha un valore storico, forse adatto per qualche rivista o libro.

Di diapositive simili, ne ho a migliaia scattate anche in Turchia, Iran, India e Nepal.

Ma queste che ho realizzato a Herat Stock me le ha quasi tutte rifiutate con le giustificazioni: "Violazione di proprietà intellettuale" (il che lo trovo anche offensivo) e "artefatti".

Evidentemente non ho capito la vostra filosofia commerciale: accettate solo immagini di famigliole felici che sorridono o di manager incravattati con i loro bei laptop mentre si stringono la mano tra loro?

Happy, smiling families and business type photos are what sells! (It seems).

Did you take those photos in Afghanistan? You have to be the owner of the photos, otherwise IP rights come into force. If you did, you should sign a release saying that it is your own work.

You also have to be careful with artifacts when editing. This is a common theme.

The reviewers can only judge on what is likely to sell and having the highest possible quality to increase chances of sales!

It is also better for them.
