I'm new at this. Help with Exposure problem

This photo got rejected.  The explanation was exposure problem.  What specifically is wrong here...thanks in advance

Punch the exposure up a bit and then darken the shadows back down. It'll make the image much more dynamic.

It's under exposed, lacks contrast, and is poorly composed.  Don't put it smack in the center.  Give some surrounding space.  This just says "I took a picture of a flower".
