Hi,

I submitted several stock photos and they have been rejected for "technical issues" but no other details were given. I went ahead and attached some examples of the photos. Can you help guide me on what might be wrong with my images?

Thanks!

hello @defaultmz1nqwozdm47 , I'm going to comment on the firts photo. There is enough wrong there that you can use the info to find problems in the other photos.

First of all, your photo is underexposed by 2 light stops.

View your photo at 300%. You will see artifacts around the objects in the water. You will see a halo between the water and the sky. The water is also full of artifacts.

Portions of the sky are overexposed causing loss of detail in the clouds.

Hi @defaultmz1nqwozdm47 ,

You have nice composition, however all you shots display noise/grain. The first and this frame immediately below has halo around the edges.

Teal color sky, teal color sea, black sea and golden yellow sand are not description of a typical sea shore landscape.

Your shots must be as close to natural as possible. Customers will make whatever changes they wish with their editing application. Also if you notice even the edge of the clouds of the first image is teal.

The sky is grainy and is over saturated.

Also make sure horizon lines are horizontal.

I hope this helps.

@defaultmz1nqwozdm47 Welp, I can see you are trying which is a good thing but your images are really missing the mark in several ways, from focus to color balance to overprocessing. Your ideas for settings are generally okay (fyi, you can't show a commercial sign without a property release) but your techniques are far from acceptable as stock images. Please spend massive amounts of time looking at professional photography and studying this craft from top to bottom and you will intuitively know when your images are ready for presentation and sale. Some other community members may give you additional technical specifics and links to pages where you can find out more about why images are rejected. Keep learning and shooting!

@J E L ,

even with a property release you should not have logos or business names in the picture.

@defaultmz1nqwozdm47 ,

yes, removing logos, signs and other identifyable elements will help, if the pictures are technically correct. What you show here is out of focus and overprocessed, full with artefacts. This is not a contest for art shoots but pictures need to be usable for a wide range of applications. So they need to be sharp, well exposed, natural colours, free of noise and with a correct white balance. It is allowed to photoshop the pictures to get that and correct artifacts, lens dust, noise, chromatic aberration etc. But you should not overdo that.

Exactly, any signage should be removed and any identifiable properties with the signage removed in post processing should have a property release specifying the photographer can sell resulting images. Even then, AS may not accept such images.

Hi @defaultmz1nqwozdm47,

The colors are a bit dull & drab.  There's not much wow factor.

Photography classes will help you with photographic technique, which equipment to use,  best lighting practices, good composition and post editing.

Before you submit to Stock, compare your work with what other Stock Contributors are doing in your category.  For example,

https://stock.adobe.com/search/images?load_type=search&is_recent_search=&search_type=usertyped&k=hut...

Study links below.

Hope that helps.
