Hi @davidtaphotography ,

Too much of the first image is out of focus. Subjects in the forefront of your crop must be properly focused at all time, and depth of field takes care of what's behind.

The tower also is not properly focused and also has a thin blue fringe around the highlighted edges.

The dark, blurry foreground of the first image is distracting. This scene might work better if cropped to a landscape rather than a portrait orientation, eliminating most of the blurry foreground.
