We have seen a lot of users often complaining about licensing an image accidentally or while downloading the preview they licensed the image instead. Since there is no way we can un-license an image or remove from the license history, we are left with no option but to keep the un-wanted license.
I have shared below a few best practices that we can follow to avoid accidental licensing on our Stock website.
Note- There are other ways as well to license an asset like from Creative Cloud libraries and Creative Cloud apps, however, we will just be referring to the website here.
Log on to https://stock.adobe.com/ and, search for an asset using keywords.
Please refer the snapshots below:
#After the search results have displayed you can select the asset you want to license.
#Another way of licensing is to click on the image to open the details of that image. You will see a screen with the image and its details.
Shared above are the ways to can properly license an asset and avoid accidental licensing.
Feel free to share your views in the comments section below on how you ended up licensing an asset accidentally.
Thanks

None of the above options came up for me. I accidentally hit license when I clicked to look at the image. The licence button was not visible until right before I clicked - I didn't see it in time. So it went straight to license and the download window. There needs to be this option to verify that you want to purchase before it does it automatically. How can I get a credit for the photo? image #299683737

Hi there,
I have confirmed that you have licensed the image and have added an extra license to your account which you can use instead.
Did you not get the license button or you missed out on it? Did you not get the confirmation screen?
Would you mind checking your private message?
Thanks

None of the above options came up for me, either. I accidentally hit license as well when trying to view image #322903515. I've also never seen any of the above options and I'm working on a 2019 macbook pro.

I also just accidentally licensed 2 images. One I'll use, but this one I cannot: #237362194
I'd appreciate an extra license added to my account. And I'll do my best to be more careful in the future, but really, this is a design issue that Adobe should fix!

Adobe needs an interface fix for this issue. Users are NOT the problem. Please fix your UI. This has been going on since the beginning. Please let me know how you can credit my account for 325045031? Thank you!

I too accidentally licensed an image that I can't use. I was actually switching programs when it happened and had no way to cancel the download as it happened automatically. The image is #181144535. Can I get a credit for this license? I will delete the image from my downloads immediately. Thank you.

Hi lh4158,
You've only licensed this asset once. Please review your license history for more information.

Hi, I'm having the same issue – none of these prompts came up on my screen. I accidentally clicked while scrolling and licensed this image FILE #: 159552936 Is there anyway to undo that? Thank you.

Same thing has happened to me. I understand that when you click on the image it then will take you to the screen where it will give you the options of Preview, Standard or Extended, the problem is when you are scrolling as the mouse curser moves over an image the blue "License" button pops up, but when your eye catches a photo that you want to view, you natural swing the curser over to the image and click all in one motion. Either there should be no blue License button while scrolling through images, or when you click the blue License button from the gallery search area it then should pop up a window that ask "Standard or Extended" and not immediately License the image. I believe this would make it more user friendly. thank you for your time always working to make Adobe products the best in the biz.

I did not intend to licence an image FILE #: 320429822 but just as I clicked to preview the licence button popped up underneath my cursor and boom the image was licenced.
Now I have spent non-billable time to correct this horrible UI feature! It really needs a second verification that one wants to licence or the ability to deselect licence if the file has not been downloaded.

This happened to me once. The issue is a UI problem and is easily solved by removing the blue "License" button which only appears when you hover over an image. If you are working quickly, as many of us do, and think you are clicking for a larger preview but are accidentally in the hot spot for "License", you start the click before the word shows up and boom, it's done.
You can remove this button from the preview or add an "Are you sure?" question. Either would fix this issue. Licensing should only be done in the second window, imho.
