Can a freelancer use adobe stock assets for clients?

I've been reading through other posts about licenses as well as the adobe license terms themselves and it seems like the answer is yes but it would be great if someone else can confirm that I am allowed to use a standard licesnse for an asset to add to a client's website for example. I completely understand that if I want to use the same asset for multiple clients I need multiple licenses. 

I just want to be sure that I can download assets to use for clients other than myself.

Yes you can license assets on behalf of your client. However if you find that a different client wants to use the same asset you would need to license the asset again. This can be done through your license history.

Well, an Adobe Support rep just told me "I have just checked with the team and you see the Adobe Stock May not be used for commercial purposes such as advertisements, promotions, endorsements, advertorials, commercial blogs, merchandise, etc. - even if you have obtained an Extended license - without obtaining prior written consent from the copyright owner of the asset, and additional permissions as necessary."
So, it sounds very much like you can't! That's very restrictive, if true, when compared to every other stock library.

That support rep told you nonsense. When you buy a licence, you can use the asset according to the licence. There is no need for additional clearance. If there are people represented in the asset, you can be sure that the contributor has submitted a model release for that person.

Contributors explicitly agree that assets that they submit to Adobe stock can be used according to the licence as published by Adobe, and that includes commercial use of any kind.

That Adobe Support rep apparently knows nothing at all about Adobe Stock and either needs more training or to be fired. That's exactly what Adobe Stock is for. Read the Adobe Stock License Agreement here for more detail:
