Those questions should be asked to an ip lawyer. Noone here will be able to give you a correct answer based on the little information you gave.

I would put it like this:

If you paint a picture and sell the canvas where you painted on, it looks to me a lot like selling a mug or a t-shirt. If however you want to put a scan of your picture back to stocks that looks to me like a copyright violation.

I'm not a lawyer, so do not take my advice for anything other than my personal opinion, with no guarantee that my interpretation is correct. Look here for more information on licensing: https://community.adobe.com/t5/stock/links-for-licensing-terms/td-p/11366788
(Disclaimer: As always with licensing, this is my interpretation of the rules. I think they are correct and advice is based reading and interpreting the license terms and on fair use for both the buyer and the artist/stock company, but I can not rule out that my interpretation is wrong. I'm not an Adobe employee)

Thank you so much Abambo! Great information and interesting interpretation.

I have contacted Shutterstockphotos and they replied that it's ok to use photos for reference and then resale paintings on Creativemarket (images bought under the extended license)... But I'm not sure about Adobe Stock. I see that it is stated:

Extended licenses

With an Extended license, you may:

  • Use the asset with all the rights granted in the Standard license.
  • Reproduce the asset beyond the 500,000 copy/viewer restriction.
  • Create merchandise or products for resale or distribution where the main value of the product is associated with the asset itself, such as a coffee mug or t-shirt.

With an Extended license, you may not:

  • Distribute the stand-alone file.

I would love to buy so many animal photos here from you all! And paint the most wonderful animals!
