Hi, let's say I license an image from Adobe Stock, and would like to display it as a banner on a social media site. Can I place a faded watermark of my company logo in order to prevent people from downloading said licensed image? Thank you.

Yes, as a buyer of stock images (well licenses to use stock images...), you can modify the image pretty well and do what ever you want to do, with a few limitations as laid out in the licensing terms. So yes, you can watermark the image with your logo, faded or not faded. But best protection is to upload only the (small) size needed, even that this with high resolution screens gets quite difficult, if you want to provide a visual quality to your site.
