I have DAT files showing up in my Adobe stock licensed folder? They download that requires them?

What did I download that requires them? Can they be simply deleted?

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Stock forum so that proper help can be offered.

These came with some of the stock photos that I downloaded. Can they be deleted? What are they for?

What data was located in that directory and what programs did you use to open those files. I suppose, from your screenshot, that those files are temporary files that did not get cleaned up.

A lot of applications create .dat files but in my experience they are usually hidden from view unless I select "show hidden files" somewhere on my Mac. And conventional wisdom would suggest that the reason some files are hidden is because it's best not to delete them. Anyway, you can google "what are .dat files" for additional information.

Thank you. Most here say they are "cache" related. My search revealed there is an external program for .dat files. They appeared when downloading Stock Images. No video.

Dat files can be basically anything, but they do probably not contain useful user data, if there is no program running, that needs them. I do not see dat files on my system. So I assume they need to be internal to you. Did you try downloading with a different browser?
