Files are downloading in word not pictures

Eveyrtime time I download a photo it comes up in word code and not in pictures. I have tried, accepting cookies, opening adobe stock in new search engines, clearing history and trying again, and signing in and out. I recently signed into a friends account and re-downloaded one of his photos and it came through in pictures on my laptop. Would like assistance as I need the phtotos for my business.

Start your photo app and use Open from the File menu. Do NOT double click, as double clicking seems messed up on your computer, and runs the wrong app.
