Hello,

I just downloaded this: https://stock.adobe.com/uk/images/set-of-black-laurels-branches-flower-ornament-dividers-collection-...

Why do these icons not come with a transparent background? It's of no use to me with a solid white backgroud, can you advise?

Thanks

I am not sure what your expectation is here. This file works best as an Illustrator file. In Illustrator you can ungroup the file to move or copy the elements to a new file and create what you need in Illustrator. JPEG files are never going to be transparent, that is not how they work.
