Reassigning licenses to client

Hi there:

I purchased a standard subscription under my company email, but the content has all been used for my client work.  Now the subscription is renewing, the client wants to create an account directly, or have my account transferred over to them.  What is the best way of doing this?  And how do I assign all the license rights of the images that I've used (since they have a perpetual license) to my client?  Thank you.

Hi Suzanne,

There isn't a process for transferring licenses to a client in this way. The client can download the licensed assets you provided and store them locally. I will pass your questions on to our product management team. This is good feedback.

Thanks for the response.  I have downloaded them to their server for future use but want to be sure I have something in writing to provide to them to ensure they have an active license.  Is this something that can be done in a quick email?

You can tell I worked in the licensing industry for years and like to have things buttoned up 🙂  Thank you!

There are 2 things that need to be done:

  • YOU need to confirm your customer that YOU have licensed the images xyz from Adobe Stock on their behalf. You assure them that they can use the assets according to the Adobe license terms.
  • The CUSTOMER needs to confirm that he is bound by the license terms as layed out by Adobe.

That should be enough legal stuff for both sides. Needless to say: the transfered assets can't be used for your own needs. If you want to use them, you need to relicense the assets.
