Rights to edit a license photo

If we buy a photo from Adobe Stock - are we allowed to change and edit this photograph?

Like for example put our product in the photo and publish it?

We are a bit unsure as their guidelines seem to read you are NOT allowed to.

When we talk to some customer service from them in India they say we are allowed if we buy the extended license type.

Where do you read that you are not allowed to modify to your needs? The whole essence of stock is to buy a licence of a picture and modify the picture to your needs. You have very few restrictions. So yes, you can do that.

Customer support probably misunderstood your need. You need an extended licence for merchandizing. You are not doing merchandizing.
