Hi,

Hi Frank,
Thank you for giving us the opertunity to critique your images. The concept of all three images are great, and yes should make great stock images except for a couple of issue. First there is a white balance issue. The images are too yellow.
Secondly, they are under exposed, and so details are lost. You need to ensure your camera's settings are correct when taking photos for stock. You need to check to make sure you have the correct white balance settings, correct exposure, and so on.
And also images like these require releases.
I hope you found this helpful.
Best wishes
JG

What was the actual rejection reason? Was it Image Quality/Technical Issues? As pointed out, you have white balance, exposure issues, and most probably property release forms need to be submitted as well and maybe model release forms.

Taking photos at nights, and in low light such as fog, and smoke require the same technique, adjust your shutter speed, aperture (f number), and ISO until you get the right exposure for the scene. Pay attention to the indicators in your camera, or on your display monitor. Sometimes the use of exposure compensation is necessary. Setting the right white balance is also important. If you're not sure of what white balance is best, try auto or preset a white balance. However once you have good settings, you'll get more details. In the case of these images, high ISO is required.
You will get more detailed information about shooting in low light by watching the video "Photography Foundations: Night & Low light by Ben Long on Linkedin.

You have to do some post-processing. This is a quick example of what can be done:
If the smoke was that yellow in your original shot - it would be like from a chemical burn.
Be careful of property rights though. You should clone out anything that can be identified.
