does anyone know how to find out who has licensed your image and where/how it was used. i get a very undetailed accounting from adobe when someone buys my images, basically just the $ amount and how many times it was licensed, no who/what/where info at all. seems like they should supply that info.

There are several reasons, why this information is not supplied:

  • Data protection: the customer has a right to stay anonymous. The same way, Adobe does not allow the buyer to contact you.
  • Business protection: You could be in a situation where you and the buyer would like to short-circuit Adobe and you would sell directly to the customer. When you download your assets into the Adobe stocks pool you profit from Adobe's customer base and infrastructure, but are in competion to the big number of contributors.

I never felt the need to know who acquired my pictures. Why should I? If however you distrust Adobe that they are not doing their accounting correctly, you should not use the service provided. BTW any stock image provider works the same.
