I have found it to be impossible to cancel acrobat pro dc.  before I tear up my credit card … any advice on how to cancel?

there is NO option to cancel your membership in that area and there bloody well should be. That is a very ASSHOLE thing for a company to hide the cancel membership option, forcing people to waste theirtime to hunt forums just to find out where this is.

If you have no subscription plan, then why did you ask to cancel?

I have checked your account details and noticed that you had signed up for Adobe Stock 10 images per month(one-year) plan on 11 Sep 2018. The subscription has been suspended due to payment issues and that is the reason you are unable to self-cancel your subscription.

A trial subscription automatically expires in 7 days.  If you joined without a credit card, there is nothing to cancel.  If you wish to end your trial early, uninstall the software.
