Hi,
I want to know if this is technically legal. What if I...
1 I purchase the extended license of a simple vector asset.
2 Using the vector as a reference, I redraw it from scratch on the ipad or illustrator, subtly modifying the original design.
3 I add further significant designs onto that redrawn vector to change it even more.
Would I technically have the rights to trademark the vector after the recreation and all the modifications?
I'm sure this is really frowned upon and it's disrespectrul to the original artist. But I imagine businesses do it all the time.. At least small businesses. There are times when I see a logo online or somewhere, and I think, "oh that looks like it's from adobe stock... But if so, how did they do the trademark?"
Thank you
