default options for iray renderer

New Here ,

Hi,

I just wanted to find out if there was a way to edit the default settings for the iray photoreal renderer rather than having to go in and alter the settings every time we load a package to work on.
Also, is there any way to access/alter other options not available in the UI?

Hello Andrew,

Thanks for the question.

Unfortunately, the Save Current State option (3D view>Scene>Save Current State) doesn't save the Renderer. It's bothering. I've notified the rest of the team and we'll see if we can do something.

What do you mean exactly by options not available in the UI?

Best regards,

Re the options not available in SD It's not critical, but depending on the version of iray supported in SD there may be other features that we wish to test. Below are some features that would be good to be able to test with (although I understand that they would not be features you might consider exposing in the UI):

  • Max path length
  • spectral rendering
  • This is frame buffer related and not really a global option issue, but access to view default frame buffers - Beauty, Diffuse, Specular, Glossy, Emission, Alpha, Irradiance
