How to recreate something similar

I figured out the reaction diffuse node exists. I was trying to make something similar with this but you need some sort of a base pattern to make it point towards the center like this and connect without overlaps.

 

As far as I know you can't control the spacing between lines in the diffuse node either. Does anyone got tips on how to recreate this?

I tried to do something similar but couldn't figure out how to achieve a matte choker effect like you would in After Effects to contract the lines. Turns out the answer was as simple as using the Edge Detect node, so not only did I learn about the Reaction Diffusion node from your original post, but I also learned another one from @davescm, so thanks! So many nodes to learn... Anyway, here's my approach where the lines are a little more dense than your reference, but I think you can get pretty c
