I'm attempting to create a tile floor consisting of flat pebbles - see first reference image. I am unable to get the stones close enough and at the same time create a random pattern. The second image shows my failed attempt. Does anyone have any pointers on how to accomplish this? Have a recommendation on which node(s) to use? Thanks in advance.
Hello @kmwhitt,
Thanks for the question.
You will probably find multiple solutions for your problem (this is one of the strenghs of Substance 3D Designer), but here is mine:
I've added a Cells node and linked it to an Edge Detect. This way, you can settle the roundness of the pebbles and also the distance between them while keeping the disorder you're looking for. I've also added a subtle Warp to make the noise a little bit more natural.

Hello @kmwhitt,

With that being said, it is not easy to find the perfect Roundness/EdgeWidth without losing some informations in the Edge Detect, Therefore don't hesitate to create your own "Cells noise" to avoid this kind of problem.
