Shape Splatter node changing after plug in outputs

New Here ,
Sep 03, 2024 Sep 03, 2024

Hi! So im having some issues with my shape splatter node and I am not sure if its user error or a bug. Basically my shape splatter looks totally normal until I connect the splatter data outputs. It can be any output at all it doesn't matter, no matter what I plug it into it changes the shape splatter node to a weird color gradient. The photos attched show the before and after plugging it in.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!

Hello Aliya,

Thank you for reaching out!

The rules for selecting the node output which should be used as a thumbnail are:

  • At least one output is connected: the thumbnail is the topmost connected output
  • No outputs are connected: the thumbnail is the first output

Therefore, in the case you described as soon as you connected a Shape Splatter output, the node's thumbnail changed from its first output to its topmost connected output.

I hope this makes sense. Let me know if I may help you furt
