Alpha browser settings

I find it super aggravating that opening the browser on a brush's alpha does NOT automatically return you to the currently loaded alpha. I think it's reasonable to expect this would be the behavior.

Also, why is it that the basic simple brush alpha does not get reloaded automatically when removing an alpha, but instead returns you to "Uniform Color". There is then apparently no preset alpha that resembles the simple brush. This is probably a newbie issue but the only way I've found to get this back is to restart Painter, which is ridiculous.

These seem like really simple user-friendly things to implement.

Thank you for the feedback.

However, I'm not entirely sure to understand the issue you're facing.

First of all, the Alpha from the "Basic Brush" is named "Shape" and can be found in the "Alphas" section of the Assets panel.

Now, if you have changed brush or its settings and want to go back to native parameters, you can simply click back on a "Basic" brush asset.

But could you explain in detail what you meant by:

OK, so the default "Shape" brush is there, but it would be far more user-friendly if there was a way to simply reload it without having to navigate to it. It's the default, so clearly developers understand that this is a commonly used preset, so why doesn't it reload automatically when deleting another more complex brush.

Simple. When clicking in the "Alpha" area of a brush, the browser only opens, it does not navigate to the currently loaded alpha. With nothing in the search box, the first thing in the list will always be 3D Perlin Noise. So, you are always having to scroll down from the top of the list, not from the currently loaded alpha. This is really annoying when wanting to work through alphas methodically to test them.
