How does one solve this error message? And what is a "null surface"?

Hello Natali,

I guess you faced this error while Baking? Could you share the meshes you used for baking?

Let me know.

Yes it was while baking. And my collegue had the same error message on his meshes and bakes. I cannot share the meshes. But the workflow is that the lowpolies are from Maya and the highpoly meshes from Zbrush. Standard settings for the bakes.

Null surfaces could be related to multiple things, and it's a bit hard to tell without more info, but I understand that you can't share the meshes.

First of all, is the cage visible in the baking tab?

Considering the High and the Low don't come from the same soft, I'd make sure the two have the same dimensions. It worth's the try to import the High Poly in Maya, an re-export it before baking in Painter.

In addition, I'd make sure the meshes have the same format (.OBJ, .FBX, etc.), to keep a certain consistency.

Best regards,
