Hello, I'm doing a lot of tests with Substance painter and I'm looking for the best way to texture a label, text with gold, silver etc... I already have results but I would like to hear the opinion of the pros in the field.

All this is for bottle label, packaging and all the things like that .

Thank you

Hi

Assuming you do mean simulating the label in 3D for use in rendering, as opposed to setting up a real label for printing (in which case InDesign is more appropriate), then it would just be a case of using the metal property of a PBR material. So low roughness and a metal value of 1 will give the foil look. You can also simulate embossing and debossing using the height map. I find the easiest way is to set up a material and apply as a fill layer with a black mask. Then I use the lettering on the mask to place the material as words on the label.
