Further to my previous query here are some screenshots that may better explain where I am not understanding.
Everything is done using PBR metallic roughness . Pic 1 is the baked maps in Substance, Pic 2 is the Metallic roughness material node in Arnold. and Pic 3 is the maps that get exported from Painter [ using Metallic roughness ] Notice there is no AO map exported. also if you look at the Arnold material node there is a slot for AO but NOT for the height map. ! Hopefully someone will clear this up.
Cheers.

Hello all,
Could anyone tell me where to plug my AO maps and Height maps that are exported from Painter into Arnold Render. The PBR Metallic roughness material node [ in Arnold ] does not have anywhere to plug the aforementioned maps into. It has Base colour, Metalness, Roughness, Normal, Opacity and Emission but no AO or Height.
cheers.

Thanks for the message.
First of all, you can create your own export preset or edit a current one if you need more specific maps.
For the PBR Material node from 3DS MAX, the Height slot is the Displacement at the bottom of the node. Height and Displacement are two terms describing the same behavior (almost).
Regarding AO, the Arnold export preset in Painter doesn't include one because considering Arnold is a Path Tracer, it doesn't uses AO. Ambient Occlusion is a map that is more dedicated to Real Time engine. That being said, if you still need a AO map, you can either use another export preset that contains one, or (as mentioned before) create your own.
